Background & Experience
Clifford “Chip” Clapp is a Virginia, DC and Maryland-licensed attorney who received a BA in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University and his JD and LLM from American University in Washington, DC. He has regularly appeared in state and federal court on behalf of clients and is bilingual, walking Spanish-speaking clients through the U.S. legal system.
At Dycio & Biggs, Chip focuses primarily on civil litigation and criminal defense. His experience lies in regulatory law (real estate and banking), criminal defense, custody, and immigration. Chip was also the recipient of the Virginia State Bar’s Lewis F. Powell Pro Bono Award in 2020 for his work running a legal clinic and instructing other lawyers in a continuing legal education (CLE) course on the clinic’s practice area.
Chip resides in Fairfax County and enjoys spending time with family and friends and pursuing creative endeavors such as music performance, painting, and writing.
