Gershom A. Young is a dedicated and dynamic associate attorney focusing on civil litigation in the courts of Virginia. Gershom brings a wide and eclectic variety of experience to his work, allowing him to see problems from diverse points of view.

Born in Washington, D.C., but a true son of the Commonwealth, Gershom attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, studied economics and Chinese at the University of Virginia, and earned his Juris Doctor at the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. While at William & Mary, Gershom served as a Notes Editor on the William & Mary Law Review. His note, "Retroactive Recognition of Same-Sex Marriage for the Purposes of the Confidential Marital Communications Privilege," was selected for publication and has been cited by state courts in their decisions.

Before entering the legal profession, Gershom worked in research and fundraising for the Washington National Opera, the Folger Shakespeare Library, and the National Geographic Society, informing his creative problem-solving and broad perspective. Outside of work, Gershom serves as a bridge to connect people and communities, striving to build a stronger Virginia. He is an active community member and serves on the boards of the Diversity Conference of the Virginia State Bar, the Dulles Triangles, and FCPS Pride. When not building connections, Gershom enjoys walking Virginia's beautiful forests, researching history, and singing with his temple choir.
